And the Winner is….

The recent Academy Awards reminded me of how glamorous and elegant the film industry can be. The elite of Hollywood rolled out the red carpet and put on a show to honor the creative work of their own. It got me to thinking, what if there was something similar in the world of Ministries?
Ministry work should never be looked upon as glamorous because its not in the least. That being said, the performance of the staff and volunteers is something that should be recognized. There is no greater sacrifice than to give of yourself in service to others. It’s not done for honors, its done for the love of our fellow man and to honor the gifts that God has provided each of us. Why did we get these gifts? Did we deserve them over someone else?
Many will never understand the compassion of someone that is willing to leave the comfort of their homes and travel long distance to be able to work as hard or harder than they have ever been asked to work. The motivation is to help change lives and give others a chance to live. Pretty powerful and a much better gift than a small statuette.
The same can be said for the people in the warehouse, logistics teams, etc. They will never get the recognition they deserve, but they do get what they really seek…..to be God’s hands and feet in action for others. Nothing is more satisfying than to provide the less fortunate a chance. It’s what motivates us all to keep working hard. And the winner is…..
