Who Took Our Utopia?

One thing that is certain in operating a ministry, you never know what is going to happen from minute to minute. Anytime you are operating in 22 countries around the world, dealing with issues related to operations, execution, and accountability, life will never be boring. In the last 30 days, I have been to multiple countries, met with multiple Boards and been home for a whole 2 days. It's a lot, but it is what the ministry needs right now and we are at the ready to do what we need to do.

Coming off the road is wonderful feeling, seeing my family, the international staff, etc. I love these people, they have huge hearts and work so hard to ensure that lives our being changed. These people are on the front lines of support for the ministry and they get the happy, and in some cases the mad on the telephone that may or may not understand or like what it takes to be accountable in all we say and do. Many times, these people can surprise you with their behavior, and sometimes you would never know they were people of faith. It kind of comes with the territory, and we know that we must stay focused and not allow these types to disrupt the work of the ministry.

This may seem like a complaint, but its not in any way. It's just being real and explaining the world in which our international staff operates. There are so many more great people that have huge hearts and they are the ones that make the difficult ones easier to deal with. None of us are perfect, far from it, but you can be assured that each one is doing their very best to serve the poorest of the poor and to bring the love of God to those that have all but lost hope.

Come to think of it, this is Utopia. It hasn't been taken from us. We love those we serve and those we serve alongside. This is God's ministry and we are honored to have the opportunity to serve. This is our Utopia, where we know each day that if we do our very best, lives will be saved. It really doesn't get better than this!

We would love to have you play a role in this effort. You can help to support the ministry through your gifts, join a Project Team, or help open a door to an organization that could possibly partner with us to help secure the materials and resources necessary to serve more people. That's are sole motivation and we love to have those of like mind join us. It's a pretty great place to hang out, and we would love to have you give us a call!
