The Straight Facts About Ebola

Posted on October 16, 2014 in General Ministry, Management, MMI, Patient Stories, Programs, Volunteering | 0 comments

We have spent the last few weeks discussing the issue of Ebola with various media outlets, etc.  The panic that is currently taking place is unwarranted and yet the media continues to infuse hysteria into the country.  We do not have an outbreak of Ebola in the United States.  There are two nurses that have come into contact with the a dying patient and have contracted the disease.  That is it.  There is no question that there have been processes and protocols that have not worked or have not been followed correctly that lead to these nurses getting Ebola.  It’s tragic and needs to be addressed, but there is no need to get all worked up.  I was so impressed with Shepard Smith’s commentary that I want to share the full statement with you.  Shepard Smith gives you the straight facts…

There you go!  Please relax and understand the issues at hand.  The problems are in the developing world and we will be working hard to ensure that they are addressed.  We need your help and support so that the issues that face the poor are addressed where the disease begins.  If we can get our arms around that, the issues will not become a problem here.
