The Great Commission

Jesus was very clear in His teachings that we are to seek out the sick, the meek, and poor. This was a very intentional call to all who follow Jesus to not just waste the gifts that God has provided, but to use them to reach those that were not so blessed. We have been called into service, will you answer the call?

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 26:18-20

As a follower of Jesus, we must visualize what He is trying to tell us. The poor are all around, but do we take time to find them. It’s not fun being poor, they didn’t want to be poor and thus they will seek to hide from the public view. The Great Commission tells us clearly to seek out these people and let them know that God loves them. Is that all? No, He makes it very clear that we are not only to seek them out, but love and help them as providing love to them is like loving Jesus.

We have been blessed by God with skills, resources, and an evironment that allows us to thrive. These people were not as fortunate, but that does not make them any less important. In fact, according to Jesus they are MORE important as they will “inherit the earth”. It’s kind of amazing if you think about it, Jesus has given us the gifts and how we choose to use them will determine how we are judged. We have been commissioned to seek out the poor and bring God’s love and blessings to them.

It’s our calling to serve and we will continue to use the gifts that we are provided to seek out the poor. We challenge you to join with us and support the ministry financially and spiritually as we continue to find those that need to hear God’s message. He has commissioned us to reach out and we would love to have you join with us. You can help by praying for the ministry and also sharing your gifts so that the ministry can continue to reach the less fortunate.
