Jesus brings Life!

The journey as a Follower of Jesus continues…

The world around us is one of mixed messages, strife, anger, and concern.  Constantly we hear people spin their points of view about events happening today and yet there is little conversation about a much more important concern…living today as a preparation for eternal life.  An investment in Christ will provide a much larger return than any other investment that can be made on this earth.  Jesus invested in us and it’s our calling to carry on His mission for others.

Jesus called the little children

But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” – Luke 18:16-17

Throughout the New Testament, Jesus consistently talks about the Kingdom of God and the journey to join Him in heaven.  There are many that live their daily lives and lack the ability to visualize and understand what Jesus was talking about.  That is not a surprise as we live in a society that wants instant gratification, but God doesn’t work that way.  Jesus asked the wealthy to give their wealth away to the poor and follow Him.  Affluence provides a sense of entitlement…..”I can get into any event, buy any thing”…it may work on earth, but it will not give you any access to Heaven.  Christians are not Christian by standing up or signing something, your eligibility for Heaven is clearly defined by your actions and commitment while on this earth.  It’s not a bad thing to be successful, but you must always know that the most important success in life is in service to God…not in personal wealth.

Followers of Jesus to all corners of the world

The Kingdom of Heaven will come on God’s timeline, not on anyone else’s.  Jesus said it would be easier to put a Camel through an eye of a needle than it is to get into heaven (Matthew 19:24).  That is a very high standard that we must constantly work to achieve!  All the while the Devil will continue to make moves on life’s chess board and create chaos and destruction wherever possible.  Jesus secured the Checkmate against this enemy at the end of this war, but there are many battles to be fought before that time will come.  Faith and commitment to follow Jesus and impact the world on His behalf is the key to entry into heaven.  Jesus clearly defined our calling in the Great Commission….

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”    – Matthew 28:19-20

The Great Commission to seek out all who need to know Jesus

Earthly kingdoms have risen and fallen, but Christ’s Kingdom will never fall.  We are called to share the voice of Christ to all we can come in contact.  Lives will be changed and transformations will occur before our eyes.  The Apostle Paul was clear in that this journey would be full of challenges and sacrifices, but we should be confident that our future is fully guaranteed thanks to the sacrifice Jesus made for us all.  Invest in your faith over political dialogue and strife.  The world needs more Jesus and less debate and chaos.  Either way, the war has been won and its our calling to do our part until the  journey is done.  Get to work trying to get that camel through the eye of that needle!

For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.– I Corinthians 15:20
