In The Face of Terror…..LOVE!
The incidents of today in Kenya, Pakistan, and other locations around the world present a sad view of a minority getting a lot of attention for doing bad things. I sit today in an airport heading out once again to seek to secure support for our ministry of Love. Its heartbreaking to see innocent people under attack. Every single television in the airport is tuned to the story of evil happening in these places. Imagine that you and your family were headed to church or the mall and someone decided they wanted to hurt you. We are all horrified, but what is it we can do from where we sit?
The answer is bring LOVE back into the news! Unfortunately, the bad guys continue to get all the attention, the so-called “squeaky wheel getting the grease”. It’s time that the Good News be shared throughout the world and see that God truly does care about everyone and that there are miracles being executed everyday. The only problem right now is that no-one even hears the story of good as those in control of the media seek to tell the sensational stories. If you think about it, the lack of coverage of the good being done throughout the world is an injustice for those that have lost their lives today at the hands of terrorists. It’s time that this trend stops.
In an interview in 2011, Anne Graham Lotz spoke with the Christian Post about why God allowed the attacks to occur. Her answer continues to resonate through my being as I watch what is happening today…
“We are trying to build a peaceful world, but there is no peace within people’s hearts,” Lotz said.
Lotz says so-called Christians have pushed the self-destruct button. “Foundations of godliness have crumbled; things sacred have come unraveled. We have also embraced pagan teachings while rejecting the Bible in our schools, courthouses, and government institutions,” she said. – Christian Post September 10, 2011.
We are ultimately responsible for the world in which we live. We can sit back and let others tell stories that destroy our world, or we can take a stand and start getting the good news in the forefront of what is heard. There are some amazing “God Moments” happening today, and yet not one news outlet will be covering these stories of hope. Instead they will spend countless hours letting politicians and bureaucrats point the fingers at each other. We will see a series of speeches and the execution of plans that have nothing to do with addressing the problem. Each Talking Head speaking to “look good” to who they think they need to please. Sad!
The journey before us is not an easy one, in fact it may be one of the most difficult challenges that the followers of God and Jesus have faced since we were charged to follow Jesus model of service. Does that scare you? There is no need to be scared, God has presented this and many other challenges before His people and the challenges lain before us are not really even the biggest issue, its how we handle these challenges that God wants to see most. You see, God has blessed each one of us with amazing gifts, blessings, and intelligence to go and make a difference while we are here on this earth. He has left it to us to determine the proper course we are to follow, and its now in our hands. What are you going to do?
The great news is that we are never alone. God has surrounded us with wonderful families and a team of followers that are committed to serving His will. This team is at the ready to provide the Good News to all that we can reach and help. Every single gift of love is a foundation stone for God’s message to be heard. We must continue to push to get the good stories in front of all those that can hear so that the bad will become the minority and His love becomes the main story heard by all. You have a role to play in this battle, are you prepared to join with others to continue to bring His love to all that need it? He will continue to reinforce your resolve and empower you like you have never been empowered before. Let us never lose focus of the fact that love heals! Join us as we bring this message back to forefront of our world.
