Gratitude and Thanks!

Posted on November 25, 2014 in MMI | 0 comments

A sense of appreciation for blessings and gifts received, accompanied by the good will from the benefactor and a passion to pay it forward.  This is Medical Ministry International’s definition of Thanksgiving.

Mission Statement

This is my friend Ernest who lives just outside of Weneba, Ghana in West Africa.  Ernest was born with a severe birth that does not allow him to walk for any length of time.  Due to this, he scoots along the ground and spends most of his life in a small area around his family’s small hut.  His father passed a few years ago and his mother keeps a close eye on him.  He could not go to school, many considered him to be cursed.  My new little friend needed help, and we are honored to be able to make this happen.  A friend of ours is the Director of Operations at Pet International where they make small carts that are propelled by using hands like you would feet on a bike.  These carts allow those with the inability to walk to still get around.  We immediately contacted our friend and the result is a different kid:

“The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.” – Jesus Christ (Matthew 11:5)

Jesus provided the guide, and we are committed to following his call into action.  Due to the generosity of the supporters and members of the Medical Ministry International family, Ernest can now go to school, interact with his friends, and no longer be confined to a small hut on the edge of his village.  Life changed that day for Ernest and it’s moments like this that motivate the MMI Team around the world to continue to work through the challenges of operating in the developing world.  There are hundreds of thousands of others just like Ernest.  We are focused on trying to help that next person in line that has all but lost hope, and God loves them!  This work only happens when those that have been blessed, share their blessings to help  Change Lives.  MMI has created a new Monthly Giving Program, MMI Life Changers.  What a great way to give thanks and pay it forward.  A monthly gift of only $25 can help to sponsor a hospital bed that provides MMI the ability to save a life.

The return is amazing, right Ernest?

Thank you for your support, prayers, and love for people like Ernest.  The Medical Ministry International Team is honored to be used as the hands and feet of God to reach the poorest of the poor.  We can’t do it without you and we are very thankful for all that God has provided you and in turn you to us.  Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
