Digital Media…What does it mean?

Posted on February 21, 2014 in General Ministry, Management, MMI | 0 comments

Today the National Religious Broadcasters embark on a new initiative…Digital Media. Oh sure, they have been involved previously but are now realizing it is the future of ministry communications and engagement. This is such great news for all of us that have a need to bring our supporters, both volunteers and donors directly to the pulse of what is happening in our efforts throughout the world.

As an international ministry, Medical Ministry International operates in countries that many in the western world will have no knowledge, experience, or understanding of the plight being faced by the world's poor. We have embraced the concept of social media to try to bridge this gap and provide visible communication directly from the point of services so that all know the work they are supporting and how effective it is. This is so very important as the concept “out of sight, out of mind” is a tough issue for us to overcome.

It is such a great sign that organizations like MMI are beginning to help turn the tide in the world of religious communications. God has a new microphone, He knew it a long time ago and that goodness we are all beginning to catch on. This is our entree to current and future generations. If you don't know Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, StumbleUpon, etc. you are missing a whole new world of communication. It's an exciting time to be on God's Team and we pray that today will be the first step into optimizing this world into a tool to serve the less fortunate of the world that could use the Good News delivered to them in a missional mindset.

Praise God from whom all blessing flow…I think I will Tweet that out! 🙂
