There is nothing more fun than watching the World Cup in a room full of people from many different countries. The passion, the excitement, and the patriotism is second only to the Olympics. It’s a special treat that the Medical Ministry International team gets to enjoy.

The world wide football showcase also highlights the amazing team that God has brought together. We have Volunteers, Donors, and Staff from well over 30 different countries that have joined with MMI to help to bring hope to the forgotten poor. These people serve in a variety of roles whether it be at the execution point of services, within our Health Centers, or as members of our staff and training teams. Regardless of the role, these people are God’s Team joined together from all over the world to do His work.

It’s kind of interesting to think that the whole world is watching all that is happening in Brazil, and in some cases, just a few hundred miles away in the Amazon Region are MMI Teams that are serving those that have no access to basic medical care. The United States will play Portugal at Sun Arena Amazônia, Manaus which is 687 miles from MMI Clinica Leticia. This facility provides over 70% of the total health care to the Amazon region. Daily MMI teams are serving the poor and moving up and down the river providing care that otherwise would not have been available to them.

We hope that you enjoy the World Cup and take the time to get to know all the various countries that are participating. There are some amazing cultures and great people. We know this first hand, there is something special about cultures coming together for a common cause. Enjoy the event and thanks for your support of the MMI Team!
