Every day presents new challenges, some rather simple, others quite complex. It’s easy for all of us to get caught up in the chaos and forget that Jesus provided us the answer to dealing with all that is happening around us…Prayer.

Accomplished screenwriter and author, Laurice Molinari, recently described the scenario that for every prayer that God hears and approves, a light is lit providing the angels a message to help us deal with the prayer request. Laurice likened the scenario to a legendary toy, Light Bright, where a colored plug was placed in a black board and lights up. She suggested that you could imagine a large coliseum where prayers light up and the Angels are made aware of God’s directives.

The visual of this scenario is quite vivid to me as the more work you do following Jesus directives, the more the enemy seeks to distort your vision. It is only through focus and prayer that we are able to find clarity and direction that clears our path and keeps us on track. It’s the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise to us…

6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:” ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.11 Give us today our daily bread.12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Matthew 6:6-13

Life is pretty hard and when dealing with issues related to serving the poorest of the poor, it gets even tougher. Many of the challenges are not visible to most, but are quite a task that people outside of ministry may not even realize. I have found that the better you get at doing God’s work, the more chaos gets stirred up to try and eliminate your success. Some will read into the chaos and think, “Well that’s not what Ministry is all about?”, when the reality behind the scenes is that the ministry team is ensuring that the ministry is staying focused and on track. A ministry must remain focused on exactly who they represent to be, regardless of the impression that others may perceive based on lack of understanding the full story. The end result will be people realizing that all the chaos was just that and the ministry is exactly what it presented itself to be and continues to do God’s work.

I love God. He is always by our side and has sent these Angels to help us along our path. All we have is His. All we do is in His honor. We are to pray and pray often and keep those lights coming on and ensuring that our focus is in line with His desires. It’s easy to get off track, and continual prayer keeps us moving towards our goals. Take multiple moments throughout the day to reach out to God, seek His guidance, and feel confident that Angels are among us with the clear directive from God to help us along the way. How great is our God?
