It’s the Holiday Season and there is so much going on.  We have shopping, gifts, parties, etc. going on and there is not enough time in the day!  How are you going to get everything done, attend every event, and still take care of your regular routine?  Your not.  Slow down, and let the world know the real you!

The Holiday Season is a wonderful time of the year.  We all love the lights, the music, and the time to be with family and friends.  Unfortunately, over time the whole “holiday” thing has become more than just a celebration of the season, and more of how good we can be to everyone around us.  Loving family and friends will always be a good thing, but the truth is, they want YOU, not all the stuff that you happen to have in your trunk.  There is no greater gift than spending “me” time with all those that love you.  No one will remember the amount of time you spent trying to make your decorations just right, finding that perfect gift, cooking that perfect meal, etc.  They will, however, remember that time you spent just loving life and making memories.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying the holidays and all that accompanies the build up.  Shopping can be a fun experience, but it should not become a roadblock to skipping the true essence of the season.  There have been many that have brought up the “secularizing” of Christmas and the negativity that comes with it.  Don’t count me among that group.  The lights, the gifts, the movies, etc. are wonderful and a much needed break from the chaos of our lives.  What is important is to not lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas…a celebration of the love that God gave us through His son, Jesus.  Jesus is the epitome of love, and a celebration that has Love at its core is exactly on point.

Let’s use this wonderful time of the year to refocus our time where it is needed most.  You have been blessed beyond measure and its a good time to give thanks for the love you have in your heart and also the love you can give to those around you.  Don’t forget, love doesn’t come through gifts, decorations, etc.  It comes from You!
