A very dear friend of mine lost his Mother today after a battle with cancer. This hits very close to home for me as I lost my Dad at the age of 62 to this dreaded disease. No one can explain the pain of losing your parent ever, but especially so early in life. That being said, I do believe it is a lesson that God provided to help me come to realize how precious each moment you have on this earth really is.

Operating a ministry that focuses on establising medical infrastructure and care for the less fortunate was fueled by the passion to help others that are suffering. You cannot help but be impacted when you see a child receive life-saving care and know that you played a part in it. The same can be said of the role of a parent. They dedicated their lives to helping to make who you are today, and your life is a living testimony to their work. Today, my Father is with the Father, his work is done, but mine continues.

I would ask all that have taken a moment to read this prose to say a prayer of thanksgiving to God for all the gifts He has provided to help you live your life. One of the biggest gifts was that of your parents. Thank Him for the gifts and then begin today to honor these gifts by living your life to its fullest. Our time is short, make the most of it while you can. Please say a special prayer for my friend, he suffers today but is buoyed by the love of his family, friends, and the memory of his mother.
